Region 3 tourney to begin Thursday

With the blizzard still raging and no travel advised in the area, the Class B Region 3 boys’ basketball tournament has been postponed again.

The tournament will be played at the Jamestown Civic Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

It’s going to make for a busy day of basketball on Thursday, with four regional quarterfinals at the Civic Center, the Blue Jay girls taking on Fargo South at the state Class A tournament at the Fargodome and the Jimmie women taking on Huntington at the NAIA Division II national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Region 1 tournament in Wahpeton was postponed for a second straight day as well. The tournament will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday at NDSCS in Wahpeton.

The Region 4 tournament in Devils Lake, which opened as scheduled on Monday, was postponed on Tuesday. The semifinals will be played on Thursday and the finals on Friday.
