BISMARCK (AP) — It’s poetry.

High school students from around the state are in Bismarck to recite poems for the state Poetry Out Loud finals.

It’s part of a national arts program to encourage students to learn about great poetry.

North Dakota’s state poet laureate, Larry Woiwode, is the emcee of the state finals at the North Dakota Heritage Center. The student winner will advance to national competition next month in Washington.
