The James River Family YMCA is opening up its facilities to all people in Jamestown who have been displaced because of the flooding.

“We are aware that many college students have left the Fargo area because schools have been canceled and have relocated to Jamestown,” said Mark Olson, YMCA executive director. “Several students have utilized our facilities during this time. The Jamestown YMCA will be offering our facilities for free to any person who has been displaced because of flooding.”

Even though the gymnasium area is being used as a medical emergency shelter at this time there are still many areas of the building still available, he said. Open areas include the swimming pool, racquetball courts, weight room, cardio area and aerobics room. Call the YMCA at 253-4101 for more information.
