Federal Medical Station to be demobilized

The Federal Medical Station in Jamestown will be demobilized Thursday.

The two Federal Medical Stations and a medical shelter set up throughout North Dakota will be demobi-lized Thursday, said Tim Wiedrich, section chief of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Section with the North Dakota Department of Health.

The stations are located at the Larsen Center in Jamestown and the University of Mary in Bismarck, while the medical shelter was in Central Cass School in Casselton.

"The medical shelters have been organized and the infrastructure and resources are in place to deploy them again should they be needed anywhere in the state," Wiedrich said in a press release.

The stations and shelter were set up with the intent of caring for individuals with specific medical needs who were evacuated from Fargo.
