Gov. John Hoeven will be in Jamestown today, touring the area and attending an interagency meeting of officials who are preparing for high water releases from the Jamestown and Pipestem dams.

Hoeven will also travel to Valley City and Devils Lake to see the areas and to understand each community’s flood-related issues, said Jerry Bergquist, Stutsman County emergency manager.

Hoeven will be accompanied by representatives from the North Dakota National Guard, North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

A number of representatives from the Omaha Corps of Engineers, who are currently in Jamestown and are assisting the city, may also be present.
