Middle-schoolers win 10 events
The Jamestown High School Middle School indoor track teams notched 10 first-place finishes at a meet in Aberdeen on Tuesday. The girls’ team captured eight of the individual titles, led by eighth-grader Ally Ova’s three wins in the 55 meter dash (8.02), 200 (29.63) and triple jump (29-11.50).

Seventh-grader Kylie Bodine won the high jump (4-2) and triple jump (27-11.50). Alison Allmer, an eighth-grader, won the triple jump with a mark of 29-11.50. Seventh-grader Mckayla Orr placed first in the long jump (12-2.75).
The seventh-grade 4x240 relay team placed first in a time of 2:47.97.
Orr had two seconds in the 55 hurdles and 55 meters. Allmer was second in the long jump and Ashlee Schafer’s 6:41.84 in the 1500 was good for second.
Hannah Kautzman was second in the seventh-grade shot put, while Ali Lebahn earned runner-up honors in the eighth-grade shot put.
Taylor Orr and Riley Thom accounted for the two first-place finishes for the boys’ team.
Orr took the seventh-grade 55 hurdles in a time of 9.94.
In the seventh-grade pole vault, Riley Thom took top honors, getting over 5-6.
Alex Kuss sprinted to second in the 55 meters for seventh-graders.
Tanner Orr was second among eighth-graders in the 55 hurdles.
In the 1500, Phil Manley was second in the eighth-grade race. Eighth-graders Anthony Cook (200) and Tygh Yatskis (pole vault) each placed second in their respective events.
