LaMoure County officials ordered a voluntary evacuation today, according to Sheri Gartner, LaMoure County director of emergency services.

Residents in the Adrian area reported the water is higher than the 20.34 feet crest in late March. Water levels continue to rise, Gartner said.

LaMoure County Emergency Operations Center issued a Voluntary Evacuation Order for LaMoure County residents in lower-lying areas along the James River from the Stutsman County line to the Dickey County line. Residents are urged to assess their situation and decide if they would be in danger when the water rises, Gartner said.

If residents who evacuate do not have family or friends to stay with, call the Emergency Management Department at 701-883-5301 ext 236.
