LaMoure County officials are monitoring the emergency spillway at Lake LaMoure, approximately four miles south of the City of LaMoure, according to Sheri Gartner, LaMoure County director of emergency services.

Erosion on the downside of the spillway has raised concern for residents downstream.

The dam has not failed at this time but LaMoure County residents downstream from the lake have been evacuated. Roads in the area have also been closed as a precaution. Dickey County officials and the state emergency management agency are also aware of the situation.
