Lahr crowned at pageant finals

Ashley Lahr, Valley City, N.D., was crowned Miss Teen North Dakota International 2009 at the state pageant finals held at the Fargo South High School Theatre April 4. She will compete in Chicago, Illinois in July at the national pageant.

Lahr is 18 years old and a senior at Maple Valley High School.

In the Teen division, the first runner-up was Taylor Wagner, Lisbon, N.D.

The North Dakota International Pageants are the official preliminaries to the Miss Teen International Pageant. All winners spend their year of service promoting their platform issues. In addition, they promote the American Heart Associations Go Red for Women campaign.

A portion of the proceeds from the pageant will benefit flood relief.
