Church serving fundraising dinner
The United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown is serving its Plantation Dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday. It is $7 for adults and $4 for children older than age 3. The menu is southern fried chicken, pulled-pork sandwiches, spicy shrimp casserole, mashed sweet potatoes, southern macaroni and cheese, broccoli salad, Georgia peach salad, spinach salad, Jello jigglers, cornbread, jr. buns, three southern desserts, peach iced tea, coffee and water.

Tickets are available at the church office located at 302 Second Ave. S.E. or Globe Travel in Meidinger Square.
Proceeds from the dinner go for kitchen equipment, mission trips, local community needs, youth and missionary projects. The local church, served by the Rev. David Thompson, is a Stephen Ministry church.
