Valley City has issued a “code red” to various citizens and businesses in downtown and low lying areas.
At 10:25 a.m. this morning the Valley City Fire Department started telling residents not to use water, this includes their sanitary sewers, or washing of any kind, said Hank Middlestead a Valley City firefighter.
Sometime this morning the sanitary sewers started to back up, prompting the “code red,” Middlestead said.
MIddlestead said if the water goes down there will be no problems, but if the water continues to rise there will be big problems.
