The North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Jamestown human service center has secured another location and will reopen early next week, the department announced Friday.
South Central Human Service Center will reopen Tuesday at the former Job Service North Dakota building, 427 Second St. S.W.
The center closed April 15 and relocated because of dike construction and possible flooding at its building on the banks of the James River in northwest Jamestown.
Vocational rehabilitation services have relocated to a different site. Staff will resume providing training and employment services for people with disabilities on Monday on the third floor of the North Dakota State Hospital’s Learning Resource Center.
Consumers who need directions to the new locations can call the human service center at 701-253-6300 (TTY 701-253-6414). The vocational rehabilitation service office can be reached at 701-253-6388. Individuals in crisis can call the center’s Crisis Line at 701-253-6304 or toll free 1-800-260-1310.
The center employs 87 people and provides community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment services, case management for people with developmental disabilities, adult protective services, vocational rehabilitation services and other services to thousands of individuals each year. The center serves a nine-county area including Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Stutsman and Wells counties. ---
