Jamestown Dam releases upped 50 cfs

Releases were increased by 50 cubic feet per second at Jamestown Reservoir this morning. The dam is now releasing 1,750 cfs, according to the Army Corp of Engineers.
If weather and downstream conditions remain favorable, the corps may release an additional 50 cfs this afternoon. Releases from Pipestem Dam remain at 1,400 cfs for a combined release of 3,150 cfs.
Although some rainfall is forecast for today and Wednesday, the amounts are not expected to have significant impacts on either reservoir, the corps said.
National Guard soldiers and corps experts continue to monitor of levees around the clock, checking for seepage or damage. The Guard has two rapid response teams that can respond with sandbags and equipment if necessary.
Continuous surveillance at the dams confirms that they remain safe. Dam safety experts from the Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation continue to monitor instruments and measure relief wells around the clock. The organizations express confidence that the dams are performing well.
