North Dakota’s House has approved a bill that raises lawmakers’ daily pay for regular legislative sessions and attending interim committee meetings. The measure now goes to Gov. John Hoeven.

It boosts the daily pay of lawmakers from $135 to $141 on July 1, and to $148 daily on July 1, 2010.

When they are in session, North Dakota lawmakers get their daily rate for seven days a week. During the 2011 session, each legislator’s session pay would be $1,036 a week.

Aside from their pay during sessions, legislators also receive a monthly salary. The bill increases that salary from $378 to $396 a month on July 1, and to $415 a month on July 1, 2010.

The bill is SB2064.
