Extremely high water levels at Spiritwood Lake in Stutsman County have caused local officials to request a “no wake” restriction be placed on the lake until conditions subside, according to the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.

NDGF Director Terry Steinwand authorized the request effective immediately.

“We recognize the unusually high water levels at Spiritwood Lake, and for the purpose of protecting shoreline and private property from damages due to boat wake, a temporary “no wake” restriction will be enforced on Spiritwood Lake until further notice,” Steinwand said.

Spiritwood Lake is 10 miles north and 4 miles east of Jamestown.
