Langdon to mark tornado anniversary
A memorial service is planned in Langdon later this month to remember the May 29, 1909, tornado that hit the northeastern North Dakota community.
LANGDON, N.D. (AP) — A memorial service is planned in Langdon later this month to remember the May 29, 1909, tornado that hit the northeastern North Dakota community.
The twister 100 years ago killed five people, including three children. Another 15 or so were hurt.
Memorial service or-ganizer Bill Brooks said the tornado destroyed two churches and two ele-vators, and many houses were damaged or de-stroyed.
