Students’ Europe trip canceled

West Fargo High School officials say 21 students are out $5,000 each for a planned trip in Europe this summer. School officials say Worcester, Mass.-based Voyager Educational Tours filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy this week.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — West Fargo High School officials say 21 students are out $5,000 each for a planned trip in Europe this summer.

School officials say Worcester, Mass.-based Voyager Educational Tours filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy this week.

Suzanne Thibert said students in her class worked four years to save money for the summer tour of France, Italy and Switzerland. Thibert said the school was notified on Wednesday that the company filed for bankruptcy.

The students were supposed to leave for Europe on June 2.

Principal Gary Clark said the students’ money was probably used to cover the company’s operating expenses.
