Hospital auxiliary assists Life’s Focus

President Alice Williams presided at the May meeting of the Jamestown Hospital Auxiliary. Services the club provided this past month included surgery pillows and hosting the Life’s Focus.

Martha Trautman, sewing chairperson, re-ported that another 39 pillows have been completed and donated to the hospital and will be given to some surgery patients. Auxiliary volunteers assisted with the Life Focus Event on May 6 by greeting people, taking tickets and making sure the businesses that have booths were given a break.

One of the auxiliary’s more popular fundraisers, the Geranium Sale, will be held 8 a.m. Friday at the Apple Basket Cafe in Jamestown Hospital and going until all plants are sold. Buyers are encouraged to come early. Darlene Kropp chairs this fundraiser and Deb Falk supplies the plants from the Falk’s greenhouse.

Auxilians worked on the Telecare Party. Jeanette Srozinski, chairperson, said this took place at the Gardenette Center on May 14, for Telecare clients. Telecare is a program that provides a phone call to those who live alone. Another event coming up this fall is the Tea for All Seasons. It will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sept. 10.

The Gift Shoppe at the Hospital is now offering a new line of jewelry provided by Cloud Nine.

Three members represented the auxiliary at the Healthcare Auxiliaries of North Dakota state conference on May 7: Lue Struble, Alice Williams, Joyce Roorda and Sandy Hill and will report on that conference at the June meeting.

Auxiliary meetings are the first Monday of each month at Jamestown Hospital. The public is invited to attend.
