A deputy Sheridan County coroner says a Plentywood man, whose body was found in the bathtub at his apartment, died of accidental drowning. The body of 81-year-old Gordon Hancock was found Sunday.

PLENTYWOOD, Mont. (AP) — A deputy Sheridan County coroner says a Plentywood man, whose body was found in the bathtub at his apartment, died of accidental drowning.

The body of 81-year-old Gordon Hancock was found Sunday.

The county coroner’s office released a statement Tuesday saying autopsy results indicated Hancock fell into the tub as he was preparing to take a bath Saturday evening.

Deputy Coroner Charlie Archer concluded Hancock was a victim of accidental drowning.

The coroner’s office said Hancock had a history of balance difficulties that were confirmed by the autopsy findings.
