Annual Little Britches Derby
The annual Dakota Anglers Little Britches Derby will be held Saturday, June 6. Registration will be from 8-10 a.m. at Joos Park with weigh-in at the park at 2 p.m.
The annual Dakota Anglers Little Britches Derby will be held Saturday, June 6. Registration will be from 8-10 a.m. at Joos Park with weigh-in at the park at 2 p.m.
The derby, which is open to the public, is held in conjunction with North Dakota’s Free Fishing Weekend. Parents, grandparents or friends can take a child fishing with no fishing license required.
Teams consist of a child and an adult. Teams may fish any North Dakota water, but they must be back for the weigh-in at 2 p.m. at Joos Park. Jamestown and Pipestem reservoirs are not open to watercraft but shore fishing is allowed.
Plaques are awarded in each of the four age categories (0-6, 7-10, 11-13 and 14-16). A casting contest will also be held.
Hot dogs, potato chips and pop will be served after the derby.
