Tarnos get win in GPL opener

The Tarno Tigers opened Great Plains Amateur Baseball League play with a 13-3 victory over the Bridge City Bombers of Valley City on Thursday night at Jack Brown Stadium.

Shane Schoeneberg (1-0) picked up the win in relief with three shutout innings. He allowed two hits, walked none and struck out six.

A seven-run fifth inning erased a 3-2 Bombers lead and sparked a run of 11 unanswered runs for the Tigers.

Sheldon Harding (0-1) took the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out one.
