Innovis workers get diabetes awards

Sixteen providers from Innovis Health, including several in this area, were among 193 providers to receive the North Dakota Diabetes Care Provider Achievement Award and two divisional clinics received the North Dakota Diabetes Care Clinic Achievement Award. Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, in cooperation with the North Dakota Department of Health Diabetes Prevention and Control Program, sponsors the annual awards given each spring.

Gold award winners from this area are Dr. Dale Ernster, Innovis Jamestown, and Dr. Fredrick Mitzel, Innovis Valley City, N.D.

Silver award winners are Bruce Larson, PA-C, Innovis Lisbon, and Linda Regan, PA-C, Dr. Scott Rowe and Marjorie Triebold, PA-C, all of Innovis Jamestown.

The award is based on American Diabetes Association Guidelines. Providers who had four or more patient with diabetes and who met all five achievement goals in 2008 received the Gold award. Those who met four of the five received a Silver award.

Innovis Health Valley City was also one of two Innovis Health Divisional Clinics to receive the N.D. Diabetes Care Clinic Achievement Award. These two clinics were out of 17 that were recognized by demonstrating excellence in managing the care of diabetes patients and is based on ADA guidelines.

To receive this award, a clinic must have at least 10 patients with diabetes, more than one practitioner and have met all five achievement goals in 2008.
