JHS seniors recieve Beyer scholarships
Two Jamestown High School seniors were selected to receive $1,000 each from the Spc. Paul A. Beyer Memorial Scholarship fund for 2009.
Two Jamestown High School seniors were selected to receive $1,000 each from the Spc. Paul A. Beyer Memorial Scholarship fund for 2009.
Kimberly Doyle will be attending Bismarck State College in the fall pursuing a degree in nursing. Doyle currently works at Polar King and has been active in Skills USA during her high school years. She is the daughter of Deb Doyle.
Samuel Seigman will be attending Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham, Wash., pursuing a degree in auto collision repair technology. Seigman currently works at Kmart and was active in football in high school. He is the son of Cheryl and Ronald Seigman.
Paul Beyer, a U.S. Army specialist, was killed June 23, 2006, while serving with the 101st Airborne near Baghdad, Iraq. This scholarship is to honor not only Beyer’s memory but also a reminder to all of the sacrifices made each and every day by U.S. servicemen and women.
This is the third year the Beyer family has presented scholarships to Jamestown graduates pursuing a two-year degree after high school. They said they continue to be grateful for the continued support of family, friends and community to help fund the scholarship
The Spc. Paul A. Beyer Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Jamestown Public School Foundation.
