Steele, N.D., man dies in head-on crash

A Steele, N.D. man died of injuries received in a head-on crash five miles east of the town Tuesday evening.

William Privratsky, 54, Steele, was driving a 1998 Dodge pick-up westbound in the eastbound lane of Interstate 94 just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Vincent Ulstad, 52, Fargo, was driving a 2008 Ford pick-up eastbound in the left lane of Interstate 94, passing another vehicle.

Privratsky hit Ulstad head on in the left hand lane of I-94 eastbound, according to the patrol.

Kidder County Fire Department and Ambulance extricated both drivers.

Privratsky died at the scene, the patrol said. Ulstad was transported to MedCenter One, Bismarck, for injuries.

The use of seat belts was unknown, the patrol said. Both vehicles were totaled.
