MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A woman is recovering from scrapes and bruises after being run over by her own car in her driveway.

Police said Elaine Waldera got out of her car in her Mandan driveway Monday morning when she heard her cell phone ring in the back seat. Waldera said she thought the car was in park, but it was in neutral, and it rolled over her left leg while her right leg was caught inside.

Waldera said she was dragged on the pavement. She said three men working construction in the neighborhood came to help her and called an ambulance.

Waldera said her leg was not broken, and doctors in Bismarck put a pin in her hip.

The 75-year-old Waldera said the lesson of the story is: Just let the phone ring.
