The event has been held every year since 1981.
Unseasonable weather limited the event to 37 teams, each consisting of one adult and one child. Plaques were awarded to the winners in each group as well as the traveling plaque to the highest Dakota Angler member.
Due to the weather, the casting contest, candy toss and other festivities were postponed until July 18 at Joos Park.
Hannah and Jon Sjostrom were the winners in the 0-6 age group. In the 7-10 bracket, Cody Exner and Mark Attleson took top honors. Kaleb and Rod Lux paced first in the 11-13 division.
