One woman was killed and another injured in an accident near Tuttle, N.D., Sunday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Callie A. Skorheim, 25, Bismarck, was driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser south on Highway 3 en route to Bismarck from Adams, N.D., around noon Sunday.
Gloria J. Newton, 57, Robinson, N.D., was driving a 2003 Honda Civic. She had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Highways 3 and 36, the patrol said. Newton then proceeded eastbound across the intersection, failing to yield to Skorheim.
Skorheim struck Newton, the patrol said.
Newton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Skorheim was transported to St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck.
Both motorists were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
The accident is still under investigation, the patrol said.
