Arts Center plans summer activities

A Day of Clay, which includes the dedication of the facility, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 11 in the new Hansen Arts Studio. The studio is across the alley from the Arts Center. Ceramic artists will demonstrate and sell their art throughout the day.
A Crazy Days Dessert Fundraiser is slated for all day Friday, July 17. Purchase a sweet treat and benefit the Arts Center.
The Community Theatre performance of “An Evening of Politically Correct Bedtime Stories” will be held July 30, with dinner at 5:30 and the play at 7 p.m.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Beauty Lou and the Country Beast” features area students performing. Rehearsals for the play are Aug. 3-8 with performances at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Reiland Fine Arts Center.
All activities and events take place at the Arts Center, 115 Second St. S.W., unless otherwise noted. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. There is no admission to the gallery.
Volunteer opportunities are available now for the summer. The Arts Center is always in need of volunteers. The jobs are varied, from baking snacks to tending the garden to labeling the newsletter or helping with the classes. Youth volunteers (age 13 years and older) are especially needed this summer.
The children’s summer class schedule is now available and posted on the Web site www.jamestownartscenter.org. Registration is required and classes are filling up fast.
