Fifty-five residents and their guests attended this banquet on May 12 at the Gladstone Inn and Suites. Residents were honored for their contributions to home and community.
Tim Burchill, administrator of Ave Maria Village, welcomed residents and guests. David Fisher, chaplain at Hi-Acres Manor, followed with an invocation.
The evening began with cider and wine followed by a roast beef dinner and cheesecake for dessert.
The evening entertainment included piano music by Burchill and a performance by the Jamestown High School Show Choir and Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Cheryl McIntyre. Several residents danced to the old-time polkas and waltzes of the Al Entzie and Paul Janke Band.
Residents received a certificate of appreciation for their contributions to home and community from their respective administrators.
Gary Riffe, administrator of Hi-Acres Manor, concluded the evening with door prizes and closing remarks.
The Day Dream project was developed to fulfill a resident’s specific request or “Day Dream,” which may have been an everyday activity prior to residing at the nursing center.
Hi-Acres Manor and Ave Maria Village Day Dream Teams make dreams possible with donations. Anyone who would like to contribute to either team may contact Robin Gumke at Hi-Acres Manor, 252-5881, or Bonnie Arthaud at Ave Maria Village, 252-5660.
