JHS students perform in honor choir
Matthew McIntyre and Jocelyn Meidinger performed in the National Honor Choirs in Oklahoma City on March 3-7. They were selected through an audition process. The choirs had the opportunity to work with the composers who wrote their pieces such as Z. Randall Stroope, David Childs, Ken Berg and Bob Chilcott.

They were selected through an audition process. The choirs had the opportunity to work with the composers who wrote their pieces such as Z. Randall Stroope, David Childs, Ken Berg and Bob Chilcott.
They performed two concerts on Saturday, one for the parents and one for the conductors, educators, and composers who were attending American Choral Directors Association Convention.
Meredith Meidinger and Cheryl McIntyre had a chance to attend National American Choral Directors Association National Conference while the students were in rehearsals. McIntyre had several highlights throughout the week.
She attended the Peace Event held at the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. She also had the opportunity to talk one on one with two of her favorite composers, Rollo Dilworth and Joseph Martin, who wrote “The Awakening.”
The National Honor Choirs performed as the final portion of the convention.
