Flood aid tops $50 million

Federal grants and disaster loans to victims of record spring flooding in North Dakota have surpassed the $50 million mark.

BISMARCK, (AP) — Federal grants and disaster loans to victims of record spring flooding in North Dakota have surpassed the $50 million mark.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said about $54 million in aid has been delivered. State residents also have filed flood insurance claims totaling $11.3 million.

Just fewer than 6,500 North Dakotans have registered for individual disaster assistance. Flood victims have about another month to apply for aid.
