GRAND FORKS (AP) — A man arrested in connection with a late-May bank robbery in the northeastern North Dakota town of Gilby has been brought to the state from Mississippi to face a car theft charge.
Sixty-three-year-old Clifton Patterson was booked into the Grand Forks County jail Thursday afternoon.
The FBI said in court documents that Patterson can be seen holding a handgun in security video of the May 26 armed robbery of the Bremer Bank, which involved two robbers. Patterson is being prosecuted on a charge of stealing the vehicle used in the robbery, from a Fargo dealership.
Federal bank robbery charges have not been filed against Patterson. Authorities have not labeled him a suspect but a “person of interest” in the case.
