VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — A former Valley City pharmacy manager accused of embezzlement has been ordered to repay $42,400 to owners of the drug store.
Jerome Schmidt had pleaded not guilty to felony theft of property.
Barnes County State's Attorney Brad Cruff says the charge will be dropped under a plea deal that requires the 58-year-old Schmidt to repay the money by the end of July and to keep his record clean for 18 months.
Authorities accused Schmidt of embezzling from Valley Drug, which is owned by Thrifty White Drug, between August 2003 and last August.
Cruff says pharmacy owners supported the plea deal.
