Border officials seize sunglasses
Federal officials say they’ve seized more than 350 pairs of counterfeit sunglasses at the North Dakota border. A statement from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency said the shipment seized at the Pembina border station was valued at about $122,000. Officials say counterfeit Dolce & Gabbanna and Versace sunglasses were mixed with genuine sunglasses.
PEMBINA, N.D. (AP) — Federal officials say they’ve seized more than 350 pairs of counterfeit sunglasses at the North Dakota border.
A statement from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency said the shipment seized at the Pembina border station was valued at about $122,000. Officials say counterfeit Dolce & Gabbanna and Versace sunglasses were mixed with genuine sunglasses.
The agency said businesses register their trademarks and copyright information online to help Customs and Border Protection officials identify fake merchandise.
