ATM thief gets probation
A South Dakota man who helped steal an instant cash machine with nearly $5,000 from a gas station in the North Dakota town of Fairmount won’t spend any more time in jail stripes, but he might be putting on a soldier’s uniform.
FARGO (AP) — A South Dakota man who helped steal an instant cash machine with nearly $5,000 from a gas station in the North Dakota town of Fairmount won’t spend any more time in jail stripes, but he might be putting on a soldier’s uniform.
Erik Wilson of Sisseton, S.D., was sentenced to three years of probation and a jail sentence equal to the two months he already spent behind bars, along with restitution. The sentence will allow him to try to enlist in the military.
