A Jamestown woman was arrested for driving under the influence after she allegedly smashed a vehicle into a cement pillar early Wednesday morning, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Lori Mettert, 43, 410 14th Ave. N.E. Apt. #5, was driving a 2001 Dodge passenger car eastbound on 17th Street Southwest. She attempted to make a left turn onto Fourth Avenue Southwest but missed the turn, drove into the ditch and struck a cement pillar, police said.
When officers arrived around 1 a.m., the vehicle was up against the pillar and both airbags had been deployed. Mettert was gone, police said, but the car was running and the doors were locked.
Police located Mettert at a residence in Jamestown.
Officers were unsure if Metter was wearing a seat belt. Police took her to Jamestown Hospital where she refused treatment.
The Dodge sustained $6,000 in damage.
