BISMARCK (AP) — A former tenant of the Gateway Fashion Mall in Bismarck has sued the mall.
JAJ Ventures is accusing the mall of fraud, breach of contract and racketeering. JAJ Ventures owned the Joy’s Hallmark and Gelato D’Italia which used to lease at the mall.
The lawsuit said the mall and board chairman Raymond Arjmand misused money that JAJ Ventures and other tenants paid above and beyond rent for what’s referred to as “common area maintenance.” The lawsuit says the tenants were charged unfairly.
Arjmand said he was not aware of the complaints.
Mall manager Cheryl Hansen and mall attorney James Martens would not comment on the lawsuit.
