Elizabeth Schneider

Elizabeth “Betty” Schneider, 79, Harvey, N.D., died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey.

Elizabeth Bachmeier was born March 15, 1930, near Orrin, N.D., the daughter of George and Theresa (Kuntz) Bachmeier. She married Ambrose Schneider on Nov. 6, 1951, at Selz, N.D. They lived on the Schneider family farm north of Selz. They retired from farming and moved to Harvey in 2000.

She is survived by her husband; seven daughters, Linda (Jim Koch) Schneider, Jamestown, Geri (Bob) Stephan, Fingal, N.D., Elaine (Gerald) Koble, Anamoose, N.D., Diane (Ken) Streifel, Esmond, N.D., Jackie (Doug) Wolfe, Selz, and Laurie Bredeson, Andover, Minn.; two brothers, August (Caroline), Washington, and Nick (Arlene), Orrin; five sisters, Ann (Steve) Selzlen and Mary (Edward) Held, both Harvey, Phyllis (Leonard) Bickler, Washington, Helen (Pat) Wieneke, Oregon, and Carol (Pete) Dresser, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a daughter, Judy; her parents; and a sister, Cecilia Hellman.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Selz.

Prayer service: 7:30 p.m. Monday, Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Visitation: noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Selz Cemetery, Selz.
