FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A hotel owner in South Dakota is suing Fargo developers in federal court, saying they breached contracts in the construction of two hotels.

The hotel owner alleges Lexstar Development and Construction used inferior materials, skimped on some items and ran up unapproved bills in constructing the Fargo Settle Inn & Suites and the Settle Inn in Gillette, Wyo.

The Lexstar developers, Norman Leslie and his father, Robert Leslie, deny the allegations and have countersued, saying the dispute was worked out in a March agreement that the hotel owners have failed to follow.

Both hotels are owned by limited-liability companies registered to Mark Foster of Pierre, S.D.

Both lawsuits also list the architectural firm hired for the projects, Prairie Design Studio of Horace, N.D., as a defendant. Neither lawsuit asks for a specific amount of money.
