BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Supreme Court has upheld the convictions of a man and his fiancee who were sentenced to life in prison for the deaths of a rural North Dakota couple.
Aron Nichols and Tamara Sorenson, of Fargo, were convicted in deaths of Donald Willey and his wife, Alice.
Authorities said Nichols shot the Willeys before setting their home on fire near Sykeston in April 2007.
Nichols was sentenced to two life prison terms without parole, for murder. Sorenson was sentenced to two life terms as his accomplice, with the possibility of parole.
The Supreme Court ruling released Tuesday says the rights of Nichols and Sorenson were not violated and the evidence supported the convictions.
