MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A Mandan organization has taken in about a dozen miniature ponies that were allegedly neglected by a breeder in Florida.
Triple-H Miniature Horse Rescue is expecting five more ponies from the same facility.
Director Allison Smith said the American Humane Association asked her operation to take in the ponies. She said it will take at least six months to nurse them back to health so they can be put up for adoption.
Spokeswoman Kelley Weir said the American Humane Association is providing $2,000 for the care of the horses.
