James Hunter, the author of two internationally bestselling books, “The Servant” and “The World’s Most Powerful Leadership Principle,” wants to bring a servant leadership program to businesses across the United States, and he wants to start the pilot program in Bismarck.
With the help of Dakota MEP — a non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the competitiveness, productivity and profitability of companies in the Dakotas — and the University of Mary. Hunter will launch a 10-month servant leadership pilot program at America’s Leadership University, beginning Sept. 14, during the weeklong inaugural celebration of President Rev. James Shea. The pilot program is designed to guide a company’s top leaders through multiple interactive processes, to sustain changes in leadership skills and behavior and then ensure follow-through, accountability and implementation within the company.
To kick off the pilot program, Hunter invites the public to attend a free 75-minute presentation titled “The Power of Servant Leadership,” at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 in the McDowell Activity Center.
Businesses interested in being part of the James Hunter Leadership Pilot Program should contact Dakota MEP at 701-328-5476 or visit its Web site at dakotamep.com. If the pilot program becomes filled, businesses may be put on a waiting list for future programs. Upon successful completion of this pilot program, Dakota MEP and the University of Mary will help integrate the servant leadership model into more businesses in North Dakota and the region.
