Casselton parade hopes to set record

CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — The southeastern North Dakota town of Casselton hopes a parade next month one-ups a town in Switzerland.
Officials hope to set a world record for the most fire trucks in a parade.
The event will follow the Aug. 15 Cass County Summerfest Grand Parade. Organizer Greg Kempel hopes it will best the world record of 159 trucks set in Oberdiessbach, Switzerland, in 2006.
Kempel hopes to get between 175 and 200 fire trucks. He said so far, he’s gotten commitments from 100 trucks from more than 50 towns in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.
