BISMARCK (AP) — Gov. John Hoeven is seeking federal financial help for some North Dakota energy projects.

Hoeven traveled to Washington this week to meet with Energy Department officials. He said the state is already investing in the energy projects and would like federal support, as well.

The projects include an expansion of the Spiritwood Energy Park, an incentive program for service stations to buy ethanol and biodiesel blender pumps, and a demonstration project to capture natural gas that typically is burned off during oil production.

In all, Hoeven is asking for more than $38 million in federal money.
