BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A New Salem man says he will plead guilty to selling 15 cattle that were pledged to the federal government.
Shane Himmelspach is charged in federal court with conversion of mortgaged property. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Authorities say Himmelspach hired a trucking company in 2007 to haul the cattle to two different livestock barns and sell them under the name ``Fertilizer Transport.' The cattle had a value of about $5,600.
A plea hearing has not been set.
