Jewels of Prairie to meet for party

The Jewels of the Prairie will meet at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Mirt Brown’s (235 13th Ave. N.E.) for a “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” Garden Party. Jewels should call Dorothy Chouinard, 252-3208, or Char Hetherington, 252-3736 for reservations by Sunday.

All Red Hatters interested in going to the Queen Mum’s Fashion Show at the Eagles Club in Valley City on Aug. 15 should call Carmen Yanish at 701-840-1873 for more information. On Sept. 8, The Jewels of the Prairie are hosting a motorcoach day trip to the Enchanted Highway and to re-discover North Dakota along the way. All Red Hatters and friends are invited. On Oct. 13, the Jewels will have a “Go Red” program from the American Heart Association. The National Red Hat Society has joined forces with the American Heart Association to encourage Red Hatters to follow a healthy lifestyle and to prevent heart diseases. In November, Tim Burchill will entertain the group with a travelogue of Denmark. Jewels are asked to bring ideas of what they would like to do for a December program and ideas for 2010.
