Fiery S.D. crash kills semi driver

A fiery semitrailer crash in eastern South Dakota’s Deuel County has killed the driver. The Highway Patrol said 65-year-old David Meyer of Marshall, Minn., died at the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Monday. Authorities said the semitrailer went in the ditch on S.D. Highway 22 about 10 miles east of Clear Lake, collided with a bridge guardrail, dropped into a ravine and burst into flames.

CLEAR LAKE, S.D. (AP) — A fiery semitrailer crash in eastern South Dakota’s Deuel County has killed the driver.

The Highway Patrol said 65-year-old David Meyer of Marshall, Minn., died at the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said the semitrailer went in the ditch on S.D. Highway 22 about 10 miles east of Clear Lake, collided with a bridge guardrail, dropped into a ravine and burst into flames.
