A public input meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at City Hall, 102 Third St. S.E. in the City Council chambers concerning the dowel bar retrofit of U.S. Highway 52 in Jamestown on Mill Hill.

Preliminary project plans and maps will be available for public review beginning at 6, with a short informal presentation scheduled for about 6:15 p.m. Afterward, both city officials and representatives from Interstate Engineering, the design consultant, will be available to answer questions and discuss concerns.

If unable to attend the scheduled meeting, the preliminary plans, maps and other exhibits will be available for public review at the City Engineer’s Office any time after 8 a.m. Aug. 14.

The project, previously approved by the City Council, would be paid for by federal stimulus dollars with little to no anticipated local costs for the construction. The work will primarily consist of activities that would result in a smoother vehicle ride and longer life from the existing pavement. Construction on this project should begin in spring 2010, and be complete late that fall, weather permitting.
