N.D. man dies in collision

A Hunter, N.D., man died Saturday afternoon when the car he was driving collided with a truck near Amenia, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A Hunter, N.D., man died Saturday afternoon when the car he was driving collided with a truck near Amenia, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Darrell Ramstad, 63, was eastbound on Cass County Road 32. The patrol said Ramstad failed to yield at the junction of CR 32 and North Dakota Highway 18 and was struck by a truck driven by Brandon Roller, 21, Hope, N.D. The crash happened at about 1:15 p.m.

Ramstad, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car, the patrol said.

A passenger in Roller’s truck, Alyssa Archer, 19, Finley, was wearing a seat belt and was injured, the patrol said. Roller and another passenger, Christopher Grandalen, 19, Portland, N.D., were not wearing seat belts and were not injured.

Casselton Ambulance and FM Ambulance responded to the crash, the patrol said. Archer was transported to Innovis Hospital, Fargo.

The 1996 Mercury that Ramstad was driving was totaled, the patrol said. The 2006 Chevy truck sustained front-end damage.
