Team South Dakota 16th in Primal Quest
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota team competing in an adventure race in the Badlands and Black Hills is in 16th place out of the 32 teams that started.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota team competing in an adventure race in the Badlands and Black Hills is in 16th place out of the 32 teams that started.
As of Monday morning, the coed foursome was just under 200 miles through the 600-mile race, which started early Friday west of Rapid City with a marathon.
Team South Dakota members include Gary Haven, Lisa Gustin, Andrew Busse and Eric Hansen, all of Rapid City.
The race includes 300 miles of mountain biking, 150 miles of trekking and orienteering, as well as paddling, swimming, kayaking, climbing and caving.
Spectators can watch racers from Angostura Reservoir, the Needles parking lot, Badlands National Park and Crazy Horse Memorial and follow their progress online at www.ecoprimalquest.com.
